How has training been?
Training has been good this year. Always hard with the amount of Op’s and Exercises going on but the lads have really dug out this year balancing training and work.
Any particular highlights so far, on or off the field?
Highlights this year have been the dominant victory over Nottingham Trent University. We played how we wanted to and dominated through-out..
Any pressure on the team, given that the Army are the reigning champions?
There is always self induced pressure with lads making their debut and wanting to perform but besides from that I wouldn’t say there is any pressure on us from the outside.
Expectations for the Championship
We will always go with our heads held high but never expect to win the matches. We will go with our game plan and play the best we can which will then result in a championship win.
Why is it so competitive at U23 level?
U23’s will always be very competitive as it’s young lads trying to prove their ability and strive for senior team caps. It’s always a high pace and big hit games no matter who’s playing.
Who should we be looking out for in the squad
You should be looking out for Kieran Jenkins. He’s been around both u23 and senior team camps for the last few years. He’s a strong powerful runner in the back line and has a great rugby IQ.
